DEFINITION OF A PYTHON SCRIPT FOR THE MICRO-SIMULATION OF THE TRUCK PLATOONING SYSTEM

Truck platooning is, by now, one of the major topics in transport science and freight transport. The benefits arising from system explain growing interest involved stakeholders many field-tests planned next years. This run towards truck saw an abrupt acceleration but there are risks that should be accounted for. Even though fundamental for implementation a new system, they will hardly cover all traffic scenarios platoon trucks face on European network. Therefore, is need more studies based simulation tools enabling software to reproduce platooning. In this framework, paper has two aims, first being report describe Python script with common commercial software. second apply said analyse what best driving strategy limit hindrance surrounding while approaching critical highway segment such as on-ramp one. At end paper, comparison between three different strategies (driving usual, dissolution headway adaptation) carried out commented.
